Some of you may be asking yourself what is a fish swap, but are afraid to ask.

A fish swap is an event where fellow hobbyists, and some businesses, set up tables and bring fish, equipment, plants, live foods or just aquarium equipment in general and sell it to the public flea market style.

If you have never attended a swap meet you are missing out on a great day of fun and excitement.

Swap meets are a great way to meet like-minded people who share your passion for the hobby as well as an opportunity to get some amazing deals on the fish of your dreams.
What to expect at a swap meet.

  • You will see lots of vendors with their fish safely packed in bags on display for sale.
  • You can expect to see aquarium decorations, used equipment, driftwood, live foods, lots of different types of fish, live plants and most anything aquarium related.
  • You can expect to pay an entry fee to get in the door of generally $3-$5 per individual (Nebraska Aquarium Society will be charging $5 at the door of the March 2019 swap). These admission charges are necessary to help pay for the rental hall and other expenses involved in hosting an event of this type.

If you have any questions about what to expect please feel free to reach out to one of the admins privately or post as comments to this post.

64 days til the swap!
