Our Mission

The mission of Nebraska Aquarium Society is to grow area interest and involvement in fish keeping by fostering a more interactive and involved community of hobbyists of all experience levels.

There is already a thriving community of hobbyists in the area. That said, we have lacked consistent events aimed at bringing us together. As a club we aim to change this. We’ll also continue to maintain a collaborative discussion platform, so members can seek guidance, share experience, and discuss fish-keeping. This discussion group can be found under our name Nebraska Aquarium Society on the Band App. Full club Membership is not required to join the discussion in the Band group. There are, however, costs in running the business side of the club including the events. Your membership will help us continue to host them.

Meetings and Events

The club will offer a calendar of events that brings together vendors and hobbyists of all levels of experience. Once we are fully established we intend to provide 6 events per year (every other month): 2 swaps (early spring/late fall), and 4 member meetings

For now, we will focus on establishing a foundation in the Omaha area before expanding to offer events elsewhere.

We will work to involve as many of the area LFS as possible, and to the extent that they are comfortable being involved.

The calendar can be viewed here: https://www.facebook.com/pg/nebraskaaquariumsociety/events/?ref=page_internal
